Our clients provide us with personal information of individuals, such as their applicants, so that we may prepare a report upon their request. (These reports are referred to by several different names including: Background Report, Consumer Report, Investigative Consumer Report, Background Screening Report; Background Check, and others.) In all cases, our clients have certified to Datasource Background Screening Services that they will provide disclosure to the subject of the report that a background investigation will be performed and that personal information may be gathered for the purpose of completing the Background Investigation Report. Our clients further certify to us that they will receive consent from the individual before a Background Investigation Report is requested.

A Background Investigation Report may be prepared summarizing this information. Prior employers and/or references may be contacted, and the report may include information obtained through personal interviews or other methods, regarding the individual's character, general reputation, personal characteristics and/or mode of living. We may provide all such information to our client (for example, your current or prospective employer) in one or more reports. We will retain your personal information within our database only as long as is needed to accomplish the business purpose for which it was collected. (Currently Datasource Background Screening Services retains information for seven years to meet the liability provisions of the FCRA and the terms and conditions of contracts with some of our information sources, such as State Departments of Motor Vehicles.)

Our dedicated Applicant Services Department is available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday to take your call and answer any questions you may have. (800) 431-8315.
